What to Expect
Required Steps to Getting Fiber Internet
- Verify that the fiber is available in your area.
- Establish a connection from our main line to the exterior of your
home. A
fiber
line must be plowed from our main line hand hold near you to the exterior of
your home. To begin this process, we do require the following:
- A signed Fiber To The Home Construction Agreement.
- **A $75.00 down payment on installation. This is not a deposit. It covers the portion of the installation to plow the fiber from our main line to the exterior of your home. It is not refundable once the fiber has been trenched even if you decide not to activate the service.
- We call out 811 to mark utilities. The 811 ticket must be cleared before we move to the next step.
- We plow the fiber to the exterior of your home.
- A technician will go to your home and install a box outside your home to house the electronics that the fiber will be connected to.
- The fiber that runs to your home must be spliced into our main fiber at the hand hold and then again until it is spliced into the fiber cabinet that feeds your area.
- You will be contacted by our office to let you know that we are now ready to schedule the in-home portion of the installation and activate your service.
- On the day the in-home installation is completed our technician will collect the remaining installation fees, the first month’s service fee and equipment rental fee, and any additional equipment and service fees incurred.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a quick process and can take about 2 weeks to complete.
